ADVANCED DIVING
We started teaching back in 2005 as one of the first SDI/TDI facilities in the Netherlands back than under the name Diving International Maastricht. In 2011 we made the switch to mainly technical dive trainings and changed the name in to AdvancedDiving.
Although focussing on technical diving we still teach a extensive number of scuba diving courses.

International Diving Federation
In 2015, four experienced diving instructors met at a dive centre located on the deepest lake in Poland. Over the years, each of them witnessed how diving changed with the times. They observed the dynamic development of technology, greater accessibility and increasing popularity of this marvellous sport. More people learned to dive, taking their first steps underwater, new equipment solutions, new configurations and new diving specialities appeared. The entire dive industry expanded rapidly in response to the growing demand.
However, all four were aware that every development has its upsides and downsides – each of them witnessed many accidents that could have been avoided and tragedies that could have been easily prevented. They were convinced they could change the dive training system to prevent accidents and were determined to put their plan into action. They believed that a safe return home is the top priority in diving.
Błażej Pruski, Tymoteusz Furmanek, Jarosław Bekier and myself, Sebastian Dobrowolski. We are the instructors driven by the idea of setting up a modern federation that would address the issues affecting dive training.
Every one of us brought priceless experience to the table, upon which we founded the IDF.
SCUBA DIVING INTERNATIONAL
One Dive Family
In response to growing demand, Scuba Diving International (SDI) was launched in 1998, expanding TDI’s experience and its commitment to safety and quality to the world of recreational sport diving. SDI quickly gained a reputation for its innovative, instructor-driven approach, creating training programs tailored to the needs of modern divers. This expansion allowed the organization to serve a broader audience, ensuring that divers of all levels could find a path to growth and mastery.
The group’s dedication to specialized training led to the creation of Emergency Response Diving International (ERDI) in 2000, addressing the unique needs of public safety divers. ERDI became the only training program of its kind supported by a major certification agency, serving elite dive teams such as the Chicago Fire Department
and various state and federal agencies.
Performance Freediving International (PFI) also emerged in 2000, offering cutting-edge freediving education and continuing the legacy of TDI’s commitment to safety and performance across all diving disciplines.
Today, SDI, with its sub-brands TDI, ERDI, and PFI, remains committed to TDI’s original focus on safety and quality. With a global presence in over 100 countries, SDI stands as one of the world’s largest and most respected diving certification organizations.
INTERNATIONAL TRAINING
From its humble beginning in 1994 to today, the group of training agencies Scuba Diving International (SDI), Technical Diving International (TDI), and Emergency Response Diving International (ERDI) form one of the largest diving certification agencies in the World – International Training.
With 26 Regional Offices servicing more than 100 countries, the company today far exceeds the original vision the founders had when they conceived the idea on a napkin, sitting at a kitchen table in the early 1990’s.
